(Overheard whilst on holiday)

The neighbours next door.
Are. Arguing.

Confused thoughts. Jangling.
Prejudices [awarenesses?]
Thinking of lives
Different to our own.
[Lives unimaginable?]
If there’s anger, hate
[Hints of violence?]
in the tone
[And fear?].

The desperateness of difficulties unknown.
Who knows
what it’s like to live
as another
focusing on ourselves
as a standard to judge
the neighbours, next door?
